Schedule for Weekend: March 9th to March 12th

Symposium                        Fair

Thursday, March 9, 2006 In case of heavy snow, the symposia will be moved to Friday.

Place: Western Connecticut State University, Midtown Campus, Student Center, Danbury, Connecticut

  • 8:15 a.m. - 8:45 a.m. Symposium Registration

  • 9:00 a.m. - 2:15 p.m. Student Presentations, including lunch

  • 2:15 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. Judges' Deliberation

  • 3:30 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Finalist Presentations

  • 4:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Announcement of Winners

Fair

Place:  Ridgefield High School

Friday, March 10, 2006

  • 2:15 p.m. - 7 p.m. Main Gymnasium used for project set up .

  • Registration of projects in both gymnasiums 4:00 - 6:00 p.m.

  • If it snows and school is cancelled that day, then registration is from 8:00 till 10:00 a.m. Saturday with judging starting at 10:00.

Saturday, March 11, 2006

  • 7:45 a.m. - 8:00 Greet and explain procedure to judges

  • 8:30 a.m. - noon Preliminary Judging with all students present.

  • 12:30 pm Finalists announced

  • 12:30 to 1 pm Non-finalists to be picked up

  • Lunch provided for finalists

  • noon to 2 pm Public Viewing of the Projects

  • 2 to 6 p.m. Final Judging

  • If it snows on Saturday, judging will take place without students and finalists will be informed by telephone to come to the Public Forum on Sunday.  Listen to the radio for any changes: WLAD-AM 800, WDAQ-FM 98.3, WINE-AM940 or visit our website, www.sciencehorizons.org

Sunday, March 12, 2006

  • 10:30 am to 11:00 am Public viewing of projects

  • 10:30 am to 11:00 am Reception for Finalists and their families and for teachers of participants

  • 11:00 am to 12:30 pm Public Forum and Awards Ceremony

  • 12:30 pm to 1:30  pm Project removal

  • 1:30 pm Projects not removed will be discarded

  • If it snows and the day is cancelled, we will make arrangements to get your poster back to your teacher.
