We are pleased to invite you to join us in judging the projects submitted by area students. We plan to use a similar format as in past years with two stages of judging. The preliminary judging will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 28 and the final judging will be from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m, A luncheon has been arranged between judging sessions to allow the judges a chance to relax and to thank you for volunteering your time and your expertise to the Science Fair. Hopefully, many of you will be able to stay for the afternoon judging to help judge the finalists. This is your opportunity to interact with projects and students who are the "cream of the crop". The best way to ensure a smooth judging process is to have an adequate number of judges. In this regard, if you have any coworkers that might be interested in being a judge, please pass this invitation on to them. Again, this year we have a large number of Biological projects and will need to increase our number of Biological judges. Please feel free to contact your family doctors and let them know about the Science fair. Your participation and help in this worthwhile community event would be sincerely appreciated. Please let us know if you will be able to join us. You may do this by either e-mailing me at roscoe@slb.com or calling me at (203) 431-5270. At that time, please advise (1) if you can judge in the afternoon also (from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.), and (2) which category (physical or biological sciences) you would prefer to judge in. Please respond by February 4th . After we complete all of the judging plans, we will send a more detailed information packet with some additional specifics on judging criteria, schedules, directions, etc. Again, if you know of other coworkers who might be interested, please extend this invitation to them, but have them contact us so we can keep track of names, etc. In the past, we have never had too many judges. More information at http://www.roscoe.cc/judge/index.htmlThanks in advance for your consideration. I hope to see you at the Science Horizons Fair 2004. Sincerely, Brad Roscoe, Chief Judge
