2002: More Prize Winning Projects

Dana Happel & Katie Winkler, 8th graders at Newtown Middle School with their project: “Do Subconscious Messages Come Through in a Conscious World?”, which won 1st prize in the Junior Team Biological Science Section.

Andrew Altman & Gregory Marecki, 7th graders at New Fairfield Middle School, with their project: “The Seismic Resistance of Different Soils”, which won 2nd prize in the Junior Team Biological Science Section.  These students also won 1st Prize in the Phys Team 7-8 grade category at the CT State Fair.

Maria Dimitrova, an 11th grader at New Milford High School, with her project: “The effect of magnetic water on plants”, which won 1st prize in one of the Senior Biological Science Sections.  Maria also won the U.S. Metric Association Prize.

Paul Legan, an 11th grader at New Milford High School, with his project: “The Creation of Digital Imaging Software and Its Potential”, which won 1st prize in one of the Senior Physical Science Sections.  Paul also won the Intel Excellence in Computer Science Prize.

David Roache, an 11th grader at New Milford High School, with his project: “Profiler: the next wave in hurricane landfall forecasting”, which won 1st prize in one of the Senior Physical Science Sections.  David also won the American Meteorological Society Prize.

“Adjustable Orthotics”, the project of Daniel Black of H. H. Wells Middle School, won 1st prize in the Junior Biological Science Section.
